‘Vampire Diaries’ Spoiler: Is Meredith Really Dying?

Torrey DeVitto told HollywoodLife.com that Meredith’s death was ‘inevitable.’ Maybe she wasn’t kidding!

If you’re a true Vampire Diaries fan, you’ve probably already seen this disturbing picture of a bloody Torrey DeVitto laying on the Gilbert’s bathroom floor from the April 12 episode “Break On Through.” But what’s really going on? “It’s kind of inevitable,” Torrey told HollywoodLife.com of Meredith’s death, adding that she literally flips to the back of every new script she gets to see if her character is still alive. “How long can you really last on a crazy, supernatural show? I’m just thankful I’ve lasted this long.”

The official description for the episode makes no mention of Meredith, which only makes this photo of her supposed death all the more shocking. To play Devil’s Advocate, let’s not forget she’s been sleeping with Alaric (Matt Davis), who is in possession of a certain ring that might save her from this predicament.

What the description does reveal, however, is that this episode marks the present-day reunion of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and foxy boxer Sage (Cassidy Freeman), a meeting which will make things veryinteresting for Damon’s latest bed buddy Rebekah (Claire Holt). Meanwhile, Abby (Persia White) adjusts to life as a vampire with a little help from Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice Accola), and Elena (Nina Dobrev) continues to bring Stefan (Paul Wesley) “closer to his humanity.”
