Author & Illustrator Maurice Sendak Dies

Maurice Sendak, the famed children’s book writer, has died.
The author and illustrator of such books as “Where the Wild Things Are,” “In the Night Kitchen,” and “Outside Over There,” died on Tuesday from complications from a recent stroke, said his longtime editor Michael di Capua.
Sendak’s books took readers into the inner, darker recesses of the mind, filled with imaginary worlds that where populated with wild forests and scary-looking beasts.
Sendak was 83.
