Savannah Guthrie made her debut as co-anchor of the “Today” show on Monday.
At 7:00 a.m., the broadcast began withMatt Lauer welcoming Guthrie to the post previously occupied by Ann Curry.

“It’s an honor to be here,” said Guthrie, whose promotion was announced the day after Curry tearfully said goodbyeto the show after just one year as co-anchor.
Lauer mentioned that the “Today” family was excited to have Guthrie aboard because, “You bring a great attitude and what we like to call a ‘weird’ sense of humor to this program.”
