Kirstie Alley: My Kids Will Never Wear Abercrombie & Fitch

Kirstie Alley is a prime example of how beauty comes in different shapes and sizes — and the Dancing with the Stars alum is fuming over some just published comments from the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, Mike Jeffries.
The controversy stems from an interview Jeffries had with Salon magazine in 2006, but surfaced this week and went viral.
“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids,” he says in the article. “Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”
A fuming Kirstie spoke to Entertainment Tonight saying, “I just heard [about] this guy from Abercrombie & Fitch today.” She goes on to say, “That would make me never buy anything from Aercrombie even if I was cool and thin.” Kirstie adds, “I’ve got two kids in that bracket, [18 and 20], but they will never walk in those doors because of this view of people — forget women, his view of just people.”
