Will Smith Indirectly Bashes The Kardashian Family?

While promoting their new film After Earth, Will and Jaden Smith were compared to another one of Hollywood’s famous families, the Kardashians.

During the interview with New York Magazine Vulture, Will shot down the comparison of his family being anything like that of the Kardashians.

The interviewer directs the question towards Jaden, “It’s been reported that you might be dating Kylie Jenner. The Kardashians have treated their fame as the family business. Do you guys see yourselves as similar or different?”

Before Jaden could respond, Will laughed holding his hand up signaling for Jaden not to speak. Jaden responds “I’m trying to understand.”

Will then jumps in stating “Don’t. You know, he’s never had to, to deal with those kinds of questions.”

The A-List actor then mimicked the reporter while proceeding to address the question head on, saying “So how do you think your life is similar or un-similar to people’s names in Calabasas?”  Will continues, “Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we’re really trying to accomplish. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us.”

The celebrity father-son duo made it clear — although they are among Hollywood’s most famous families — that does not mean they are anything like the Kardashian clan.
