Singer Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles area courtroom Tuesday to enter a plea of “not guilty” stemming from hit and run charges.
The 24-year-old was allegedly involved in a hit and run when his Range Rover rear-ended another vehicle back in May. A judge earlier this month revoked his probation after the city attorney’s office filed the charges of driving without a valid license and hit-and-run – both misdemeanors – in connection with the fender bender. Brown was still on probation for the infamous 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s office Tuesday dropped the charges of driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance after Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos presented proof he was licensed in Virginia.
At the time of the probation hearing Brown tweeted “I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C’mon!! I hope people can actually see the truth.” He hasn’t spoken out about it since.
The City Attorney’s office tells RumorFix that Brown’s hit-and-run trial is scheduled for August 15th. His probation violation hearing is a few days later.
