Madonna Is Spilling a 'Secret' With New Short Film

Madonna's spilling a secret: after hinting yesterday about a "secret project," the singer today said she will release her new 17-minute film secretprojectrevolution as a free download through Bittorrent on September 24th at 2 p.m. EST.  The release will mark the beginning of her new Art for Freedom initiative, in collaboration with the file sharing service and Vice.
Co-directed with Steven Klein, the movie will be available as a bundle complete with bonus material including still photos, trailers and an exclusive interview with Madonna.

In a statement, Klein described the film as an examination of "our private prisons. It questions what we do, how we do it and how we treat others. It questions our governments, and our collective thought patterns. Think about it – the power of art can lead to peace."
The Art for Freedom project – to which the pop star alluded yesterday during her Reddit AMA – was created by Madonna as a public art project that promotes free speech as a way to address persecution and injustice around the world. Public submissions in the form of video, music, poetry and photography will be welcomed once the project launches, and can be uploaded to the Art for Freedom platform.
"My goal is to show by the example of secretprojectrevolution my creative commitment to inspire change in the world through artistic expression," Madonna said in a statement. "I hope my film and other submissions to Art for Freedom will be a call to action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency."
