Amanda Bynes was hospitalized near Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, after a day filled with erratic behavior.
She is currently being held on a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours.
Bynes’ parents will reportedly seek a 14-day extension, during which time they will re-apply for a conservatorship.
As Extreme Entertainment reported earlier Friday, the troubled actress sent out a series of tweets this morning accusing her father of sexually abusing her.
Bynes’ mother released a statement expressing shock at the unsubstantiated allegations, and the former child star later backtracked from her claims, saying that her rant was the result of “microchip”her dad supposedly had implanted in her head.
During this time, Bynes — reportedly fearing that her family would track her down in New York — frantically sought a flight out of the city.
When she landed in Los Angeles, however, a car service that she thought was taking her to a hotel, apparently to meet with her parents, actually instead brought her to a hospital in Pasadena.
There, Bynes’ family lawyer was waiting with doctors, an arrangement orchestrated by her parents, reports TMZ.
People, however, describes the facility as a “rehab” and “treatment center,” as opposed to a regular hospital.
The actress was hospitalized on a psychiatric hold last year, which was followed by an extended stint in rehab, during which her mother became her conservator.
She was then released into their full-time care last December, and seemed to bemaking great strides in her health as she went to fashion school earlier this year.
The conservatorship, however, reportedly ended over the summer, Bynes was recentlykicked out of her school, and she became estranged again from her parents – all before she was arrested for DUI in late September.
As concern for her well-being increased over the past few weeks, the star repeatedlyinsisted she was not “insane” or mentally ill in any way.
