Dwayne Johnson confirms aBaywatch movie is in the works — and that he’s starring in it!
The actor shared the news on Instagram, writing, “This is my beach b*tch!”
“Rumors are true… we’re making #BAYWATCH the movie,” he continued. “Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell. Cue slo mo running on the beach… #WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha.”
Speculation has swirled for years around a big-screen reboot of the iconic 1990s television show about lifeguards, including false reports that Bill Hader had snagged the lead role.
The television series, starring David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, David Charvet, Nicole Eggert and more, went off the air in 2001.
There’s no word yet if any of the series’ original cast members are slated to return for the Baywatch movie.
