Lady Gaga Races At Indy 500 (VIDEO)

Lady Gaga rode at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. She sped down the raceway with legendary driver Mario Andretti during ceremonial laps before the 100th running of Indy 500. See the video below of Lady Gaga at the Indy 500, as well as rookie Alexander Rossi winning the race.
Lady Gaga, who knows what it’s like to be on the road, got all suited up in a racing outfit and helmet, and sat with Andretti in a two-seater that led the official pace car for three laps before the actual race began. Before hitting the track, Andretti, who won the Indianapolis 500 in 1969, tweeted, “The extraordinary @ladygaga is riding with me in my @Honda 2-seat IndyCar at the start of this historic Indy 500. Could I be any luckier?” He added, “To the 33 drivers behind drivers me and @ladygaga. Be safe; Godspeed. And to the 350,000 fans here at @IMS wave as Gaga and I go by!”
The legendary race car driver also joked before the ceremonial laps that he was afraid Lady Gaga was going to “distract” him. Andretti cracked, “I hope I can just look ahead while I’m driving.” After they completed their laps, he tweeted, “I brought @ladygaga back safely to pit lane. Thanks @IRE2seater pit crew and @Honda for your support. Historic Indy!”
Lady Gaga was a last-minute replacement for Keith Urban, who was slated to ride with Andretti, but had to pull out because he injured his back. But Lady Gaga was hardly the only celebrity at the Indianapolis 500. Also in attendance to watch Rossi win the big race were Darius Rucker, Ginger Zee, Kevin Sorbo, Ice-T and Coco, the race’s grand marshall Florence Henderson, and David Letterman, who owns Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
