“Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars Joeand Teresa Giudicewere sentenced forfraud charges in a New Jersey courtroom on Thursday.
Joe received 41 months in jail and was ordered to pay restitution to the tune of $414,588, while Teresa will be spending 15 months behind bars.
In March, the couple pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, and failing to pay taxes between 2004-2008.
During the hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas slammed the couple for having “inconsistencies and omissions” in their financial disclosure forms, noting that they have assets that weren’t declared.
Salas also called into question the fact that Joe and Teresa declared only $25,000 worth of home possessions when they held an insurance policy worth $1 million.
“They had an obligation to be transparent and candid and open with the court, and I don’t think I got that,” the judge said.
Joe and Teresa have four daughters, Gia,Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana,
