Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are NOT “dueling” over playing Paul Newman in a biopic about the late actor, despite a new report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively correct this rumor, which started in one of the tabloids. We’re told it’s simply not true.
According to the National Enquirer, Affleck and Damon have been fighting over who will get to play legendary actor. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “It’s not like this is going to end their friendship, but they’re trying to figure out a fair way to see who gets the role. Ben wants to play poker for it, but Matt knows Ben is the better player. So Matt is suggesting chess, but Ben knows Matt has the edge there. So for now they’re at an impasse.”
Of course, this is the same publication that Extreme Entertainment busted when it fabricated a story about Affleck and Jennifer Garner getting divorced and also corrected when it ran an absurd story about Damon being afraid he contracted HPV from kissing Michael Douglas in Behind the Candelabra.
