Idina Menzel and John Travolta reunited at the 2015 Oscars on Sunday, one year after the actor infamously butchered her name at the 2014 Academy Awards. Watch the video below!
As Extreme Entertainment reported at the time, Travolta was introducing Menzel to perform her hit “Let It Go” from Frozen, and for reasons still unclear, he said “Adele Dazeem” instead of “Idina Menzel.” The awkward moment went viral, and has remained one of the biggest pop culture moments in recent years.
Host Neil Patrick Harris amusingly referenced the incident during this year’s ceremony, joking about how John Travolta would pronounce Benedict Cumberbatch’s name. Menzel then came out to welcome Travolta, or, as she said it, “Glom Gazingo.” Travolta went on to show he could say her name correctly, as Menzel continued to humorously needle him for the screw-up.
The moment received many laughs from the star-studded crowd, especially when Menzel wouldn’t let Travolta announce the Best Original Song nominees. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think!
