Leonardo DiCaprio was NOT caught “hitting on” Dakota Johnson at the “SNL 40″ after-party, despite a story in one of the tabloids. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively bust the rumor, which falsely claims “sparks flew” between the two stars earlier this month.
According to Life & Style, DiCaprio was openly flirting with Johnson at The Plaza Hotel, where stars gathered after the live broadcast. A supposed “partygoer” claims the actor “put his arm around Dakota and led her into the grand ballroom. He told her ‘Let’s go look at all the celebrities.'” The magazine claims the line “worked,” and Johnson was allegedly gleeful.
“Dakota looked like she was trying to play it cool, but you could tell she was thrilled to have his attention,” the so-called “witness” tells Life & Style, adding, “As they walked away, Leo took the lead and guided her through the crowd, and a small smile spread across her face.” Of course, Life & Style gives no explanation as to why this is first coming out more than a week after the bash, or why its alleged source is the only one to have seen the pair supposedly flirting at one of the biggest New York parties in recent memory.
Dozens and dozens of people were at the event, including media, and no one else reported DiCaprio and Johnson’s supposed flirtation. Want to know why? Because there was NO flirting whatsoever. A source close to DiCaprio tells Extreme Entertainment exclusively that he was NOT hitting on the actress, and dismisses the story as “silly.” We’re further told that DiCaprio and Johnson’s connection isn’t a romantic one, but a familial one, as their parents know each other.
