Oscars Opening VIDEO 2015: Watch Neil Patrick Harris Oscar Song and Monologue!

The 2015 Oscars opened with host Neil Patrick Harris singing a song called “Moving Pictures,” paying loving and humorous tribute to Hollywood history. As Harris sang, famous images from decades’ worth of films played behind him. Anna Kendrick then joined him on stage, and Jack Black ran up to give his own amusingly cynical, anti-Hollywood take on things. Watch the video below!
Harris also told monologue jokes, including this quip: “Today we honor Hollywood’s best and whitest… I mean brightest.” He referenced Kanye West’s recent interruption of the Grammys and made a joke about Oprah being rich, but generally stayed away from snark and insults. It’s Harris’ first time as Oscars host. He has previously emceed the Emmys and Tonys to positive reviews. How do you think he did with his opening?
