Noel Gallagher doesn’t think Taylor Swift is a good songwriter. The former Oasis frontman slammed the “Blank Space” singer in a new interview saying that “no one” has ever said Swift is talented at writing songs “and you f*cking know it.”
Gallagher shared with Rolling Stone that he thinks pop music is f*cking awful,” which led to a discussion about Swift. When the interviewer noted the 25-year-old singer is known to be a talented songwriter, Gallagher laughed and asked, “Who says that? Her parents?” “Lots of people,” replied the interviewer, prompting Gallagher to rant, “Who’s ‘people’? Name these people. You’re f*cking lying.”
He added, “She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you f*cking know it.” Swift wasn’t the only pop star Gallagher blasted. The outspoken rocker also had a few choice words for Kanye West, with whom he wasn’t thrilled for saying Beck needed to “respect artistry” and hand over his Album of the Year award to Beyonce.
“He’s a character, I’ll give him that. And I love his track ‘Black Skinhead.’ But somebody needs to buy that dumbass a dictionary so he can look up the word ‘artistry.’ Beck can play the banjo, for f*ck’s sake,” said Gallagher. “Nobody plays the banjo! Get him a dictionary from me, I’ll f*ckin’ sign it and give it to him so he can look it up.” What do you think of Gallagher’s comments about Swift and West?
