FKA Twigs is pregnant in the new music video for “Glass & Patron.” Twigs directed the clip, which shows the singer, in a parked white van in the middle of nowhere, rubbing her prominent baby bump before giving birth to a long and colorful scarf, which she pulls from inside her as though her vagina is an old-timey magician! The characteristically artsy and confusing music video then transitions into some pretty serious dancing, with a number of dancers posing and sashaying down a kind of fashion runway in the middle of the woods. Twigs herself shows off some moves. Her magical scarf-baby is nowhere to be seen.
Twigs, of course, has long been interested in making visual art along with music. In July, she’s set to make seven short films in one week at the Manchester International Festival. And she’s definitely not shied away from provocative material like what’s found in “Glass & Patron.” Already this year, she’s posed topless for V magazine, been suspended by ropes made to look like her braided hair for the “Pendulum” music video, and posted a picture of herself on a chair outfitted with a woman’s giant breasts.
