Hathaway sat down to discuss the Disney sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass, and was asked her reaction of what happens to the main character at the onset of the film. The actress paused for a beat before sheepishly admitting, “I haven’t seen the beginning of this film.” She then laughed, “I’m sorry! But I am a new mother and I didn’t time the feeding schedule,” explaining that her parental duties caused her to be late for the film’s premiere.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, Hathaway gave birth to a baby boy in March with husband Adam Shulman. “My kid was hungry. I had to feed him,” the actress added. “I missed the first 20 minutes, so I can’t tell you about the beginning of the movie. Sorry!” She went on to say, “I thought the rest of the movie was good, so I assumed they didn’t whiff it the first 20 minutes and then all of a sudden it got good. And I could lie and say, ‘Oh it’s great and Alice did this’… But I’m not gonna.”
As Extreme Entertainment also reported, Hathaway revealed she was expecting in December 2015 by posting an Instagram photo of herself wearing a bikini with her pregnant belly on full display. “I hadn’t planned on ever confirming it,” Hathaway said about the pregnancy rumors during her “Good Morning America” interview. “And then I had seen a photographer while I was on vacation taking a photo, and I just thought, it’s such a joyful and sacred experience carrying life… I don’t want the first version of this to be out there with me covering or scowling at someone.” She noted, “That’s not representative of the experience, so I chose a photo that I was happy with, and I put it out there.” Watch Hathaway’s full “GMA” interview below!
