Donald Trump On Gorilla Harambe Killing: Zoo Had “No Choice” But To Shoot (VIDEO)

Donald Trump is defending the Cincinnati Zoo’s decision to shoot and kill Harambe the gorilla after a 3-year-old boy fell into the animal’s enclosure. Watch the video below.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, zoo officials used lethal force on the 17-year-old ape after a small child climbed through a barrier and fell 15 feet into the gorilla’s compound. The kid was then dragged by the large animal, but there are differing opinions on what its intentions were. Some have argued Harambe was protecting him, while others deemed its behavior to be aggressive.
“I think it’s a very tough call,” Trump said at a press conference at Trump Tower in New York on Tuesday when he was asked about the controversial situation. “It’s amazing because there were moments with the gorilla, the way he held that child, it was almost like a mother holding a baby. It looked so beautiful and calm.”
But the presumptive Republican nominee went on to admit, “There were moments where it looked pretty dangerous. I don’t think they had a choice.” Trump noted, “You have a child who’s at stake, and it’s too bad there wasn’t another way.” The presidential hopeful further said “it was so beautiful to watch that powerful, almost 500-pound gorilla the way he dealt with that little boy,” but reiterated, “It just takes one second” for the animal to snap.
“It just takes one little flick of his finger, and I will tell you, they probably had no choice,” he added. Watch Trump’s comments about the killing of Harambe the gorilla in the video below.
