Did you know Jimmy Fallon once starred in a cop show with Maya Rudolph and Martin Short? Well, they did… at least according to “The Tonight Show.” Watch below!
Rudolph and Short, whose new NBC variety show premieres next week, were on Friday’s “Tonight Show” to promote the upcoming program. But during the appearance, they began to reminisce about working together in the 80s. “Oh, please don’t tell me you’re going to talk about that,” Short dramatically exclaimed.
Rudolph chimed in, “I remember it. It was ‘The Windy City Blue.'” And Fallon explained, “It was a gritty cop show set in Chicago. We played toll booth cops.” But the city’s record winds wreaked havoc anytime they left their booths.
Of course, all of that was the set-up to show a clip from the (pretend) show’s first episode. And hilariously, the (fake) wind was so strong, it blew Short’s wig right off his head. “How young we were,” Fallon cracked afterward.
The faux series apparently only lasted for three episodes, but naturally Fallon had more clips to share of their police hijinks in the Windy City. Extreme Entertainment won’t spoil the funny real-life surprise at the end. Check out the full video below!
