“The View” co-hosts faced off in a karaoke contest and lip sync battle on Wednesday’s episode of the daytime talk show. Watch all of the performances below!
Instead of singing, co-host Joy Behar served as one of the judges of “Co-Host Karaoke,” alongside guests Boy George and L.A. Reid. Up first was Candace Cameron Bure, who performed Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” with help from the rapper himself. Following her rendition, Bure couldn’t help but fawn over Boy George, telling the singer, “You were my first fan letter I ever wrote as a child… I’ve loved you forever!”
Whoopi Goldberg got up next to lip sync the song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Broadway’s Dreamgirls. Jennifer Holliday, who starred in the original production of the show, then made a surprise appearance and took over for Goldberg. “Even though you’re not on the panel, you win,” Behar joked following Holliday’s show-stopping performance. Reid then told Goldberg, “Don’t take this the wrong way, it’s my least favorite song for someone to do in a karaoke or talent show contest because nobody sings it like that!” The co-host couldn’t help but agree, adding, “This is how that song is supposed to be sung.”
Also participating in the contest were Raven-Symone, who belted out Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Put Your Records On,” and Michelle Collins, who sang Shirley Bassey’s “Big Spender.” Watch all of “The View” karaoke performances below!
