Bill De Blasio Offers To Throw Block Party With Kanye West

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio reached out to Kanye West on Monday and offered to throw a block party with the rapper to make up for the cancelation of his scheduled performance at Sunday’s Governors Ball Music Festival.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, West’s headlining gig at the outdoor music festival was called off on Sunday due to bad weather. The rapper then announced that he would instead be performing around 2 a.m. Monday at Manhattan’s Webster Hall, but that event was shut down by the NYPD after chaos erupted when thousands of people crowded the streets.
As the situation unfolded, Kim Kardashian posted a Snapchat video of her husband telling someone on the phone to reach out to de Blasio and ask him to shut down the blocks around the venue. Unfortunately, the mayor didn’t get back to West in time to salvage his planned Webster Hall concert, but de Blasio now wants to help West and Kardashian schedule a new event. “Great block parties are planned,” the NYC mayor tweeted to the couple on Monday, further saying that he and his wife Chirlane McCray “can throw one w/ you to benefit NYC kids.”
De Blasio’s post also featured a photo of himself on the phone (see above), along with the caption, “Does someone have Kanye’s number?” West and Kardashian have yet to respond to the mayor’s block party offer, but Extreme Entertainment will update if and when they do.
