Bristol Palin has married Dakota Meyer. The on-again, off-again couple, who share a five-month-old daughter, have officially tied the knot. Entertainment Tonight has posted photos of the two showing off their wedding bands.
“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” Palin and Meyer told ET. “We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!” The newlyweds added, “Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together, and with the love and support of our family we know we can get through anything.”
Meyer and Palin, daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, announced their engagement in March 2015, but called off their wedding that May, just days before the ceremony was to take place. In June 2015, Palin announced that she was pregnant, but wouldn’t reveal the identity of the baby’s father. Shortly after the birth of her daughter Sailor Grace in December 2015, the U.S. Marine revealed himself to be the dad and filed legal documents seeking joint custody.
Palin then requested in a countersuit that she be awarded primary interim physical custody, allowing for Meyer to have “reasonable” visitation rights, but a judge denied her plea in March and awarded them both joint physical and legal custody. At the time, Meyer had yet to meet his baby daughter, who was living with her mother in Alaska, but he would soon be able to visit the baby for four consecutive days, twice a month. Obviously, this setup has changed now that Palin and Meyer are back together.
This marks Palin’s first marriage, and Meyer’s second. He was previously married to dental assistant Cassandra Wain from 2008-2010. Palin was previously engaged to Levi Johnston, with whom she shares a seven-year-old son.
