New Kids On The Block teased season two of “Rock This Boat” on Thursday’s “Today” show. Check out the video below!
“Rock This Boat,” which began airing last year, is the iconic boy band’s POP reality show. The series documents the group’s annual fan cruise, which they now revealed actually dates back two decades. Donnie Wahlberg and Joey McIntyre shared that they did a “cruise from hell” with Coca-Cola years ago that was the “worst things ever.”
A lot of time has passed since then, and the yearly trips have turned into something a lot more celebratory… but still crazy. “Now it’s much more fun,” McIntyre said, noting the eighth cruise is already planned for this October. “It’s so hard to describe to people how much fun it is. We’re on this boat, and we just want to give our fans the time of their lives for five days.”
Jordan Knight acknowledged that some other music acts also cruise with their fans, but Wahlberg stressed that their event and the docu-series is about showing how “special” the relationship is between them. He added, “The fans have grown up, we have grown up. We’re just so grateful to have this opportunity together.”
At the end of the interview, NKOTB was joined by McIntyre’s 5-year-old son, who adorably sang their song “Block Party.” That was followed by a game involving — what else? — blocks! Watch the full video below!
