Ben Affleck is not “boozing” again, despite a new report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively correct the claim, which was made in one of this week’s tabloids. We’re told talk about him being drunk is “fabricated.”
According to the new issue of Star, Affleck is drinking heavily these days. A so-called “eyewitness” claims that while the actor was walking through LAX on September 2, “He looked like a shambling bum… He was bloated, red-faced and disheveled.” The tabloid’s alleged “eyewitness” continues in extremely unnatural language, “All I could think of was, this is the guy who plays Bruce Wayne?”
The magazine then vaguely claims “friends fear that the culprit behind Ben’s haggard appearance is booze.” After noting that the Oscar winner was in rehab for alcohol 15 years ago, the publication quotes a so-called “friend” as saying, “At 44 years old, the guy can’t drink all night and bounce back the way he used to.” “He’s drinking as much as ever,” adds the alleged “friend.” The magazine also intimates Affleck was drunk on “Any Given Wednesday” while discussing deflategate with Bill Simmons this past June.
And while it’s true that Affleck has had his problems with alcohol in the past, the new tabloid article is absolutely untrue. A mutual friend of Extreme Entertainment and the actor assures us he’s not drinking. Our impeccable insider says the Star story is “fabricated.”
Sadly, we’re not remotely surprised the tabloid got it wrong. Extreme Entertainment has repeatedly corrected the publication for its slew of erroneous reports about Affleck, including a story just one week ago that wrongly claimed Jennifer Garner caught him texting his ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez. It’s also the same outlet Extreme Entertainment busted nearly a year ago when it ran a cover story that falsely asserted Affleck and Garner were “back together.” Much like those untrue accounts and others, the latest article alleging Affleck is “boozing” is all wet.
