Johnny Depp NOT ‘Consoling’ Angelina Jolie During Divorce, Despite Report

Angelina Jolie is not being “consoled” by Johnny Depp during her divorce from Brad Pitt, despite a new report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively correct this erroneous claim. We’re told it’s “completely false.”
According to the The Sun, Jolie and Depp remained close after starring together in the 2010 film The Tourist, and now he’s supporting her “after she stood by him during his break-up with estranged wife Amber Heard.” The British tabloid, which illustrates their supposed bond with a (not so chummy) photo from the premiere of their movie (see right), quotes a so-called “source” as saying that while working on the film, Jolie was “tempted” by Depp, but because Pitt and his “then wife Vanessa Paradis” were on the set a lot “nothing was going to happen.”
The same clearly made-up or woefully ill-informed source claims Depp and Jolie “have stayed in touch ever since then, and spoke regularly during the storm that surrounded Johnny’s break up with Amber.” “They have been speaking about the situation [with Pitt], and Angelina hired Johnny’s lawyer to represent her based on the advice that he has given her,” adds the tabloid’s questionable source. The same seemingly manufactured informant notes, “There’s no suggestion that [Jolie and Depp’s] closeness played any part in Angelina and Brad’s split.”
There’s also no suggestion that The Sun knows what it’s talking about. For starters, if the paper had an acutal insider that individual would have known that Paradis was never Depp’s “wife,” as stated in its article. The longtime couple never wed.
Additionally, Jolie didn’t hired famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser on Depp’s “advice.” Wasser is one of a handful of go-to matrimonial attorneys in Los Angeles, and she’s routinely retained by celebrities. But most importantly, Jolie is not being “consoled” by Depp. The whole premise is an utter fabrication. An impeccable Depp insider exclusively assures Extreme Entertainment the newspaper’s claim is “completely false.”
Sadly, this is not the first time the British tabloid has spread inaccurate information about the Jolie and Pitt divorce. The paper wrongly alleged a few days ago that Jolie confronted Marion Cotillard on the Allied set about cheating with Pitt. As Extreme Entertainment exclusively reported, no such face-to-face ever happened nor did Pitt have an affair with Cotillard. Unfortunately, much like that entirely untrue article, the current claim about Depp consoling Jolie has similarly been picked up by a slew of lemming-like outlets that didn’t bother to fact-check the story.
