Mitch Winehouse Says It Was "Very Emotional" To Listen To Amy Winehouse's New Album

Mitch Winehouse Says It Was "Very Emotional" To Listen To Amy Winehouse's New Album:

Mitch Winehouse shared what it was like to listen to his late daughter’sAmy Winehouse, new album. I can’t even imagine how difficult that was! He said that he and Amy’s mother, Janis, had to approve the posthumous release of ‘Lioness, Hidden Treasures.’
“The estate, which I’m a part of – my ex-wife and I – we could decide to put it out or not put it out, and when we went to listen to the album it was a very difficult time for us. It was very emotional. But we had to sit through it andafter the first couple of songs we sort of calmed down a little bit.

“Our son was there as well and we all had to be in agreement that the album was of the same quality or better, in fact, than ‘Frank’ and ‘Back to Black’, and we were more than pleasantly surprised.”
The album producers, Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, who also produced Amy’s ‘Back to Black’ album, listened to thousands of hours of Amy’s recordings before selecting the songs that would appear on thealbum. Part of the proceeds will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
