‘Fast & Furious’ 7 Confirmed By Star Vin Diesel

If the category existed at The Oscars, there’s no doubt that Vin Diesel and his team of adrenaline junkie car thieves would win “Best Revival of A Movie Franchise” following the massive success of “Fast 5″ in mid 2011. Now, it’s no surprise that in the wake of such success, Diesel is confirming that not only one sequel is in the works but two, being written simultaneously.
The star and producer of the film franchise revealed to The Hollywood Reporter recently that upcoming sixth installment in the decade-long franchise would be split into two movies.
“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space,” Diesel explained of the impending sequel. “We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages. The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!”
“Fast 5″ director Justin Lin will again helm the sequel that earned a whopping $626 million worldwide at the box office. The movie, tentatively titled “Fast 6″, is slated to hit theaters in 2013 and is rumored to include driving enthusiast Jason Statham to the cast.
