Whitney Houston’s Death — Patricia Houston Describes The Chilling Scene

Whitney’s family spoke with Oprah on March 11, and her trusted manager and sister-in-law talked about the evening the beloved singer passed away.

Whitney Houston‘s February 11 death devastated her friends and family, and during a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, her sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston spoke about the evening Whitney’s body was found.

Patricia said that when the body was discovered, Whitney’s entourage panicked and tried to revive her.

“She was shooting an infomercial that day,” she said. “I went to check on the room, and I headed down the hallway and I heard screaming. I saw the hairstylist drop to her knees and I kept walking very slow. A woman opened her door and said ‘Is everything alright?’ I said ‘Dial 911.’”

From there, she said that everyone knew Whitney was in grave danger.

“I was just numb,” she said. “As I got closer and I turned the corner, Mary’s at the door and she’s screaming ‘Oh my god.’ I told her to stop — I said ‘Calm down, please.’ When I got into the room, I saw my brother Ray, the security guard, trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion and I called his name. I said ‘Ray — let it go.’ They asked him to move, he was on his knees, and he said ‘I tried.’ I felt so badly for him.”

Patricia then describes how she found the body.

“Then I see her,” she said. “She had a peacefulness — a look on her face. She had a peaceful look. They had to pull her out of the tub and were trying to revive her. When Ray left the room, the paramedics were asking me to leave the room and I couldn’t. I could not leave her and I saw them cover her up and I knew that was it. I knew that that was it. And looking at her and looking and watching that, I still could not believe that.”
