In response to Friday’s shooting massacre during a showing of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. is reportedly removing all gun references from the film’s trailer.
A number of scenes in the TV spots advertising the highly-anticipated movie showcase gun use, by Christian Bale’s Batman and other characters.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, 12 moviegoers were killed and another 59 were injured when alleged gunmanJames Holmes opened fire in an Aurora, Colorado theater shortly after midnight.
New trailers without the gun scenes will be released as soon as possible, according to TMZ.
Gossip Cop has reached out to reps for Warner Bros. for confirmation.
Earlier Friday, Warner Bros. confirmed it pulled Gangster Squad trailers from theaters because, in a horrifying coincidence, it depicted several gunmen going on a shooting spreeinside a movie theater.
