The Expendables 2 Wins Weekend Box Office; Anti-Obama Doc Lands in Top 10


The Expendables 2 has won a weak, tightly packed box office this weekend.
Sylvester Stallone’s band of mostly aging action heroes took the top spot with $13.5 million.
That was good enough to beat second place finisher The Bourne Legacy, which earned $9.2 million.
ParaNorman came in third with $8.5 million.


The Campaign and The Dark Knight Risesjockeyed for fourth and fifth places with $7.4 million and $7.1 million, respectively.
Rounding out the Top 10 were The Odd Life of Timothy Green Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new bike messenger thriller Premium Rush ($6.3 million), the anti-Barack doc 2016: Obama’s America ($6.2million), middle-aged romanceHope Springs ($6 million), and car chase comedy Hit and Run ($4.5 million).
Ashley Greene’s more limited new horror release The Apparition earned $3 million.
