If you haven’t seen The Canyons yet– don’t.
The indie flick arrived at the Venice Film Festival over labor day weekend, and the flick is an undeniable disaster.
The erotic thriller film, directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis, was an epic fail not only due to its nonsensical plot line but also because of its hellish acting.
The low-budget film sparked interest in the media after producers cast troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan as a character named Tara, the girlfriend of real-life porn star James Deen who plays Christian, Lohan’s manipulative and controlling boyfriend in the flick.
The Canyons was basically about how Christian repeatedly pressures Tara into having group sex with strangers along with a character named Ryan (Nolan Funk), who moved to LA to make it big in the porn industry but is also having an affair with Tara. Once Christian learns of the affair he spirals out of control and the whole thing ends in tragedy. How shocking…not!
The directors’ attempt at keeping the viewers attention by spreading nudity through the entire two hour presentation wasn’t sexy at all, which included many graphic visuals of straight, orgy, lesbian and gay sex.
The film suffers heavily of everything from boring dialogue, to unacceptable acting, to horrible writing and directing, and even bad lighting.
You get to see Lindsay totally nude in the film, but even that was pretty boring!
