Former Bachelor Jake Pavelka appeared on Tuesday’s season premiere of Dr. Phil alongside the late Gia Allemand’s mother to discuss the tragic suicide of the 29-year-old beauty.
“Gia really understood me. We got really close after the show. We had such a special relationship. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel that I knew her, but I wish it was not for such a short time, because I’ve never met anybody like her,” Jake said through tears. ”I’ve never lost anyone close to me. I miss her so much."
Gia competed for Jake’s love in 2010 on ABC’s The Bachelor. She made it all the way to number three before the 35-year-old former airline pilot gave his final roses to Tenley Molzahn and eventual winner Vienna Girardi. But Gia and Jake remained close.
Dr. Phil asked Jake “did you fall in love with her on The Bachelor?” to which Jake responded “Yes, I never fell out (of love).”
