Ender’s Game toppled the box office in its debut weekend
The sci-fi action adventure about a boy military genius took in $28 million, enough to beat last week’s champ, Bad Grandpa‘s $20.5 million.
Two new releases, the geriatric bromance comedy Last Vegas ($16.5 million) and the animated turkey tale Free Birds ($16.2 million) battled for third place and fourth place, respectively.
Gravity landed in the #5 spot with $13.1 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were: Captain Phillips($8.5 million), 12 Years a Slave ($4.6 million),Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 ($4.2 million), Carrie ($3.4 million), The Counselor($3.3 million).
