Alex Rodriguez has personally apologized on Tuesday to fans, a little more than a week before the New York Yankees have their first full-squad Spring training workout on February 26. In a personally handwritten note (see below), Rodriguez writes that he takes “full responsibility” for his suspension, and tells his fans that he is “sorry” for his actions which made the entire situation “worse.”
As Extreme Entertainment previously reported, Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 baseball season because of his use of performance-enhancing drugs. For a long time before the suspension, the all-star third baseman maintained his innocence. Now, after sitting out all of last season, the Yankees star is apologizing to fans.
Rodriguez writes in his note to fans, “I take full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension for the 2014 season.” He adds, “I regret that my actions made the situation worse than it needed to be. To Major League Baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, the Players Association and you, the fans, I can only say I’m sorry.”
