History Of SNL: Jimmy Fallon And Justin Timberlake Open Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary (VIDEO)

The “SNL 40: Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary” special opened with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake performing the “History of SNL.” Watch below!
The musical number included an enormous amount of references to the NBC sketch comedy show’s four decades, from the Blue Brothers to The Californians, “Dick in a Box” and the Ambiguously Gay Duo, and much more. Molly Shannon’s Mary Katherine Gallagher made a cameo, as did Rachel Dratch’s Debbie Downer.
Pretty much everyone you can imagine was on hand for the big anniversary show. Former cast members like Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase. Longtime friends of “SNL” such as Justin Timberlake, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin and Tom Hanks were also there. The event also attracted music stars like Taylor Swift, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Paul McCartney and Paul Simon. Essentially, if you were famous and not at the nearby NBA All-Star Game, you were in Rockefeller Center for Sunday’s “SNL” extravaganza.
The night is expected to feature a reunion by NSYNC and plenty of other surprises, as “SNL” mines its 40-year history of famous faces and memorable characters for a broadcast unlike anything it’s done before. Extreme Entertainment will have coverage of all the big moments everyone will be sure to be talking about on Monday. Stay tuned for more!
