Georgina Harwood is 100 years old. She’s not slowing down. Over the weekend, the South African marked her 100th birthday by skydiving near the Melkbosstrand area north of Cape Town, completing the tandem jump with a flawless landing and the embrace of friends and family. Watch the video below.
This wasn’t Harwood’s first experience skydiving. That came in 2007, when she was a young 92 years old. But Saturday’s jump seemed especially momentous given Harwood’s new status as a centenarian.
Harwood took to the skies in a red jumpsuit, soaring over Cape Town and descending without incident, upright and happy. “It was definitely a very special, exhilarating experience… it’s just wonderful,” she told reporters when she was safely on the ground.
