Bruce Jenner’s gender transition has caused a “divide” among various Jenners and Kardashians, sources tell People. According to the outlet’s insider, the former Olympian’s revelation that he’s transgender put the family “through a rough patch,” just weeks after his divorce from Kris Jenner caused drama of its own. The source adds, “It’s naturally a difficult thing to process and work through.”
“The divorce caused a divide, but Bruce’s decision to share his transition has caused an even greater divide,” a source tells the magazine, regarding Jenner’s plans for a docu-series about his transition and his loved ones’ reaction to the bombshell.
People says Jenner’s 10 children and stepchildren have responded to the news in different ways. The family patriarch has reportedly been spending more time at his Malibu residence with his older children from previous marriages, including Cassandra, Burt, Brandon and Brody. A source tells the outlet “there were weeks when [his more famous stepdaughters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe] didn’t hear from Bruce.”
That said, sources tell the magazine that the Jenner and Kardashian children alike have been supportive of Bruce and remain in his corner. Jenner, meanwhile, is said to be committed to the transition and sharing it publicly, despite delaying the docu-series. “He wants this to be his story,” a friend tells People.
