Kendall Jenner did NOT give an interview in which she discussed Bruce Jenner transitioning from a man to a woman. That’s what one outlet is claiming, but Extreme Entertainment investigated, and has learned exclusively that it is “100 percent false.”
On Wednesday, Us Weekly sent out a blast alleging to possess an “exclusive interview” with Kendall, and claiming the rising star “broke her silence backstage at Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber” last weekend. Kendall is quoted as telling the outlet, “I love my dad. He’s always been there for me and my sisters. He’s a wonderful man. And just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn’t make him less wonderful. I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman.”
Extreme Entertainment spoke to a Jenner insider, who told us exclusively, “Kendall did not give this quote to Us Weekly or anyone for the matter,” adding. “This is 100 percent false.” We also reached out to rep for the magazine, who hasn’t gotten back to us with a full explanation for this fake story.
Extreme Entertainment realized from the beginning the story was totally fishy. For starters, Kardashian and Jenner sources have repeatedly made it clear that the family does not want to speak on Bruce’s behalf, and have purposefully remained vague in interviews as they wait for Bruce himself to make the definitive announcement of what he’s going through.
For example, when Kim Kardashian was on “Entertainment Tonight” last month, she only spoke vaguely of Bruce being on a “journey.” That was a calculated decision, because the family has agreed not to specifically discuss Bruce transitioning until he first does so himself. And, to date, Jenner himself has not yet gone public, so it seemed suspicious that his daughter suddenly would give eyebrow-raising quotes such as, “Just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak” and “whether he’s a man or a woman.”
Furthermore, journalistically, it makes no sense that Us Weekly would hold on to this alleged bombshell “exclusive” for four days. Bieber’s roast, where Kendall supposedly made the comments, took place last Saturday. In most circumstances, such a noteworthy statement would’ve been sent out immediately. And though the new issue of Us Weekly hit newsstands Wednesday and editors had plenty of time to include Kendall’s alleged remarks, there is no mention at all of it in the magazine. More weirdly, the story on UsMagazine.com does not have byline on it, and is attributed only to “Us Weekly Staff.”
