Jennifer Hudson will appear on the next “Empire,” and she’s released a new track for the show, called “Remember the Music.” Listen to the song below.
On the Fox drama, Hudson plays a character named Michelle, who forms a professional bond with Andre (Trai Byers), the eldest son of music mogul Lucious Lyon. The Oscar winner’s guest spot comes on this Wednesday’s broadcast.
She tells People of the new song, “In my own life and my own art, I have always aimed to move past barriers and step outside my comfort zone as much as possible, and music has always been a tool that has allowed me to do so. This song really showcases the ability that music has in helping people to find strength and clarity.”
“Empire” has become a smash hit, having gone up in the ratings an astonishing eight straight weeks since its January premiere. The show’s most recent episode received the highest score for a network drama in its regular time slot since a “Grey’s Anatomy” episode in October 2009. With guest spots from Hudson, Mary J.
