Kim Kardashian says Bruce Jenner’s transition feels like a “death” to the family, even though he is still the “same person.” The reality star makes the comment in a new “Access Hollywood” interview that was previewed on Monday’s “Today Show.” Check out the video below.
“There is this sense of death that people around feel,” Kardashian says of Jenner shedding his male identity to become a woman. “And he understands that, but he’s not going anywhere. And sometimes Kendall and Kylie get emotional over that, and feel like, you know, their dad’s gone. But they understand that they’ve gained someone else that is just as — the same person, although a little bit different. It’s just a new chapter.”
Jenner has said Kardashian has been the “most accepting” of his transition, and she now reveals she’s already met “her,” his female identity. “It was amazing and she looked beautiful, really beautiful,” says Kardashian. “She was dressed up, beautiful makeup, beautiful hair, very, very, very beautiful and very comfortable.”
Kardashian says it “felt really natural” and was “really comfortable hanging out” with Jenner as a woman, but noted that each family member is processing the change differently. “Everyone in the family has such a different emotion,” she explains. “We all get back to acceptance, and everyone supports him. But it’s okay to have every emotion.”
