Meghan Linsey made “Voice” history on Monday’s season 8 finale, performing a song she wrote herself called “Change My Mind.” Watch below!
As Extreme Entertainment has reported, Linsey actually worked with Blake Shelton long ago as a concert opener. Now paired together on “The Voice” after he stole her from Pharrell as she faced elimination, Shelton has guided the singer through the competition to become one of the most popular contestants. Last week the country superstar said Linsey had given her “most important” performance, but the three more she did here were more crucial than ever.
Linsey’s first performance of the night was the original song “Change My Mind,” which will be her debut single if she wins. The singer co-wrote the track years ago, inspired by a bad relationship, marking the first time a finale has featured a song written by the contestant. Shelton enthusiastically stood and applauded afterward, while rival coach Adam Levine said he was “proud” of and the show to see her share music she created.
Linsey next did a “Freeway of Love” as a duet with Shelton, followed by “When A Man Loves A Woman,” which was assigned to her by the public. The contender’s former coach Pharrell said afterward that she had “completely rewritten” her future. Shelton went as far as calling it the “performance of the night,” and predicted it change the competition’s “course of events.” Watch the videos below! Does Linsey have your vote?
