Sawyer Fredericks got one step closer to becoming the new “Voice” champion on part one of the season finale on Monday. Check out the videos below!
As Extreme Entertainment has reported, Fredericks, just 15 when he auditioned, has been the frontrunner throughout the season 8 competition. Never once in jeopardy of elimination, the now 16-year-old teen has continually blown away his coach Pharrell and the other panelists each and every week. Some have even assumed it’s a forgone conclusion that he’ll be this year’s winner.
Fredericks certainly continued to stand out during the final round of performances, during which he first performed “Summer Breeze” as a duet with Pharrell. The contender next sang “Please,” his potential winner’s single, which was written by his “idol” and “idol” Ray LaMontagne. Adam Levine was in awe that Fredericks’ scored the track and told him, “Dude, you win. I don’t even care what happens. That’s the coolest thing ever. Game over.”
For the last performance of the night, Fredericks was tasked by viewers to sing “Old Man.” Aguilera called him a “gem” afterwards, saying that he and Pharrell proved to be a perfect pairing this season. Watch the videos below. Do you think Fredericks will win tomorrow?
