Khloe Kardashian was onboard a flight from Los Angeles on Tuesday that had to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas.
Kardashian and stylist Joyce Bonelli were flying to New York, where she is expected to be on “Good Morning America,” “The Howard Stern Show,” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday. But minutes into the flight, smoke reportedly filled the cockpit and a burning smell dominated the passenger cabin. The pilots opted to land in Las Vegas, which is only about a half hour away from L.A. via plane.
Thankfully, no major fire erupted, no one was harmed in any way, and the flight arrived safely in Vegas, though it’s unclear at this point what kind of mechanical problem caused the issue. Unfortunately for the reality star, the detour left Kardashian temporarily stranded. She tweeted, “Supposed 2b in NYC but somehow I’m in Vegas NYC I’m trying to get there. Emergency landing but Joyce and I are SAFE.”
With time to kill, Kardashian opted to live stream from the Vegas airport, warning followers, “Joyce and I are in full of effect.” She followed up with a photo of herself drinking from a champagne glass with the caption, “Kocktails with Khloé and Joyce!!” Kardashian’s press tour in New York is intended to promote her new FYI series, “Kocktails with Khloe,” but it’s unclear if she’ll get a new flight in time for Wednesday’s appearances.
