Britney Spears and Madonna didn’t have any kind of confrontation at Sunday’s 2016 Billboard Music Awards, despite a report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively correct the story.
According to the repeatedly discredited RadarOnline, there was a “diva showdown” at the BBMAs when Spears and Madonna had a “tense face-off.” The webloid writes, “Britney Spears delivered the performance of her life last night when she was presented with 2016 Billboard Music Awards Millennium Award. But there was one person who was not so thrilled to see her return to peak performance levels: her former bestie, Madonna!”
The misinformed site goes on to allege Madonna “‘flipped’ out backstage as Spears was getting ready to perform!” A so-called “source” close to Spears claims to the outlet, “Madonna flipped out backstage and was yelling at Britney’s dancers. It seemed like she could not handle the fact that Britney was getting so much attention from the producers of the show. She went absolutely berserk!”
But Spears “handled herself incredibly well backstage. She didn’t allow Madonna’s cattiness to affect her mood or her performance,” says the webloid’s seemingly fabricated snitch. “Britney was not about to let Madonna steal her night and she completely ignored the childish antics.”
That would be a very mature reaction, but no such incident actually took place. Extreme Entertainment spoke to someone who was with Spears’ camp at the BBMAs, and we’re exclusively told there’s “no truth” to the webloid’s allegations. “We never saw Madonna backstage,” reveals our impeccable insider.
