Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd danced a perfect freestyle routine to Disturbed’s “The Sound of Silence” during the finals of “Dancing With The Stars.” Watch the video below.
During last week’s semifinals, DiMarco did a solid job with the trio dance with his partner Peta Murgatroyd and Jenna Johnson, as well as performed a flawless Argentine tango. What was most interesting about his tango, though, was that in addition to being deaf, the model decided to do his routine completely blindfolded. About his perfect tango, Bruno Tonioli called it the performance of the night. Carrie Ann Inaba loved his “fearlessness,” and Len Goodman expressed, “You never cease to amaze.”
And for his redemption dance earlier on Monday’s show, he dance a quickstep. Tonioli liked his “exuberance,” and Goodman again called him “one heck of a dancer.” In the end, though, there were flaws, and DiMarco only got 27 ut of 30 points.
But for his freestyle dance during the finals, Goodman said, “Nyle, you’re a very special person, and that was a very special dance.” Ina declared, “In 22 seasons, that was the best dance I have ever see.” She added that he has been able to “change the world through dance.” And Tonioli noted he was literally in “tears” and had “chills” from it.
DiMarco and Murgatroyd’s routine to Disturbed’s “The Sound of Silence” earned them 30 out of 30 points. Check out the video below of Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd’s freestyle dance during the finals.
