Kim Kardashian ranted about gun control on Tuesday, hours after the Senate rejected four proposed amendments.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, each measure, which largely related to background checks, failed to meet the required 60-vote threshold on Monday. And while many Hollywood stars reacted on social media immediately after the results were announced, Kardashian weighed in on Tuesday morning. “So sad! The senate voted against background checks being needed to buy guns,” the reality star wrote to her 46 million Twitter followers.
“So terrorists on fbi’s wanted lists can legally still buy guns,” she continued. “Oh & mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check too.” Kardashian went on, “The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!”
Kardashian also retweeted a number of related messages, such as the list of which Senators voted for or against one of the measures. The mom of two previously sounded off on the controversial topic following the Orlando massacre earlier this month. Kardashian wrote at the time, “Under current federal law people on terror watch lists can legally buy guns – this is called the Terror Gap.”
“We have repeatedly called on Congress to close this loophole that makes it easy for dangerous people to get guns & kill,” she told fans, before exclaiming, “Nothing has changed!!!! People continue to senselessly die. When will these gun laws be changed?!?!?!?!!!!?????” As Extreme Entertainment has reported, Kardashian also ranted on the subject twice last summer.
