The pop star’s appearance on the show’s summer concert series coincides with the release of his new album, Last Year Was Complicated. He kicked off his set with a performance of his hit “Jealous,” before going on to perform new music. That included “Close,” “Champagne Problems,” and Bacon.”
Jonas had teased his performance on Thursday by tweeting, “NYC, come celebrate album release with me at the @TODAYshow tomorrow morning!” He added the hashtag, “#NickJonasToday.” And after it all went down, he returned to Twitter to write, “That was sick @TodayShow, thank you to everyone who came out! #NickJonasToday.”
Tickets to the “Today” summer concert series are free, but viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans are expected to arrive quite early in order to get a spot close to the stage, which is located at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. As Extreme Entertainment reported, Diddy kicked off the summer round of the Citi Concert Series on May 20, while performances by Dierks Bentley, Fifth Harmony and Luke Bryan followed.
Additional musicians who will be taking the stage in the coming weeks include Charlie Puth, Meghan Trainor, Steven Tyler, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Jessica Simpson and many more. Check out video of Jonas’ “Today” show performances below, and check back soon for more!
