The 2017 Miss America pageant takes place Sunday night in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, and Extreme Entertainment has a live stream available online. Watch the beauty and talent competition below!
Women from all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, will be vying for the title by participating in a variety of events. In order to take home the crown, the Miss America 2017 contestants will have to wow the audience and judges while being interviewed, answering onstage questions, displaying a unique talent, and showing off in their evening gowns and swimsuits.
Only 15 women will advance to the finals following the preliminary rounds, and then that group will continue to shrink until the new Miss America is crowned. The talent portion accounts for 30 percent of the contestant’s score, the largest percentage of any of the segments. During the first night of preliminaries earlier this week, Miss Tennessee, Grace Burgess, won the talent portion with her rendition of the Eagles’ classic song “Desperado.” There’s also been much attention placed on Missouri’s Erin O’Flaherty, who’s the first openly lesbian contestant in the history of the pageant.
Last year’s winner and current Miss America Betty Cantrell, who represented Georgia in the previous competition, will crown her successor at the end of the night. Watch the live stream below of the 96th annual Miss America pageant!
