CANNES -- Acclaimed fine artist Andrew Levitas has found his cast for comedy-drama Lullaby.
Garrett Hedlund, Richard Jenkins,Jessica Brown Findlay, Jennifer Hudson, Terrence Howard and Amy Adams are set to star in the film, whichMimi Steinbauer's Radiant Films International is shopping to foreign buyers at the Cannes film market.
The cast was announced by Steinbauer and Lullaby producersAndrea Stone-Brokaw of Ananta Productions and Cary Brokaw of Avenue Pictures.
Media House Capital and Three Point Capital are co-financingLullaby, with Aaron L. Gilberg serving as executive producer and Patrick Murray, co-executive producer.
Levitas is making his feature directorial debut with Lullaby, and will direct from his own script. The film, which is set to start shooting in June in New York City, doesn't yet have a domestic distributor, but talks are underway with several companies.
Lullaby explores the power of life and the reconnections between loved ones. Estranged from his family, Hedlund's character receives word that his father has chosen to take himself off of life support. What follows is an unexpected journey of love, laughter and forgiveness.
"Andrea and Cary have assembled a truly stellar cast for this life-affirming tale of family and love. And in Andrew Levitas' visionary hands, Lullaby will unquestionably an exciting film," Steinbauer said.
Hedlund is also in Cannes with official festival selection On the Road, directed by Walter Salles.
Levitas' paintings have been exhibited worldwide, including in the prestigious Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts 2008 exhibition in the Louvre. He's also an acclaimed photographer. He recently produced The Art of Getting By, a Fox Searchlight release that made its debut at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
